I will stamp all over 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
